CUT AND SAY

CUT AND SAY is a visual exploration of identity as something unstable, edited, and constantly rewritten. The series combines analog collage, typographic violence, and raw portraiture to show the face not as a fixed image, but as a surface under pressure.

Each work treats typography as an invasive force. Headlines interrupt skin. Handwritten notes question anatomy. Editorial marks, ransom text, and annotations turn the portrait into a draft rather than a final image. The human subject remains visible beneath the chaos, grounding the work in realism and vulnerability.

Inspired by punk zines, xerox culture, surveillance aesthetics, and editorial critique, the series reflects how modern identity is shaped by language, judgment, and constant revision. These are not portraits meant to be admired. They are portraits meant to be read, questioned, and interrupted.
